His chamber music collaborators include David Finckel, Miriam Fried, Paul Katz, Ani and Ida Kavafian, and Itzhak Perlman.

Born in Chicago in 1992, Lipman is a student at the Juilliard School, where he is a recipient of a Kovner Fellowship and serves as teaching assistant to professor Heidi Castleman. He has also studied with Misha Amory, Roland Vamos, and Matthew Mantell. Lipman performs on a fine viola by Matteo Goffriller, 1700, on generous loan from the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation. This is his recording debut.
