Vincent Larderet (piano)
Biography:
Honored with the illustrious title of ‘Steinway Artist’, Vincent Larderet has attracted of the finest pianists of our time’ (Neue Musikzeitung, Germany), for his ‘expansive and full-bodied readings’ (Gramophone, UK) and his ‘multi-timbred’ sound (Fanfare, USA), he ‘makes the piano equal to an orchestra’ (Classica, France) with a wide range of ‘fascinating pianistic colors’ (PIANO News, Germany). His very personal and deeply inspired interpretations ‘of utter integrity’ while including a ‘rare melding of the intellectual with the visceral’ (International Piano, UK) are often compared to such piano legends as Arrau, Michelangeli, Pollini, Zimerman and Brendel. Nominated for the ‘International Classical Music Awards’ and voted an ADAMI ‘Classical Revelation’ Talent at MIDEM in Cannes, he is considered to be one of the leading French pianists of his generation. Internationally renowned as a Ravel specialist, he worked in Paris with Carlos Cebro, who instilled in him the stylistic and musical tradition of Vlado Perlemuter, and studied Ravel’s complete works on Perlemuter’s personal scores annotated during the latter’s collaboration with the composer. Mr. Larderet graduated from Lübeck’s Musikhochschule (Germany) with the famous pianist Bruno-Leonardo Gelber and was a prize winner in several international piano competitions including Maria Canals in Barcelona, AMA Calabria (Italy) and the International Piano Competition of Brest (France). He is also a beneficiary of the ‘Orpheum Foundation for the Advancement of Young Soloists’ in Switzerland.
He has performed worldwide at prestigious venues, international festivals and concert series including Zurich Tonhalle, Barcelona Palau de la Música, Washington Kennedy Center, Tokyo Toppan Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Potton Hall and London Kings Place (UK), Romanian Athenaeum, Łódź Philharmonic Concert Hall, Cannes Palais des Festivals, Cité de la Musique, Salle Gaveau, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Festival Pianistico Busoni, Le French May, Piano Texas, Fantastic Pianist Series, Besançon Festival, La Roque d’Anthéron and La Folle Journée. He has also devoted himself intensively to chamber music with distinguished artists including Emmanuelle Bertrand, Yi-Bing Chu, Michel Dalberto, Sol Gabetta, Pavel Sporcl and the Debussy Quartet. Among the renowned conductors and orchestras with whom he has recently collaborated are Salvador Brotons, Giuseppe Cataldo, Daniel Kawka, Eric Lederhandler, Grigor Palikarov, György G. Ráth, Robert Trevino, Stefanos Tsialis, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, Filarmonica George Enescu, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Orquestra simfònica del Vallès, Czech Virtuosi, OSE Symphonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo and City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. His performances have been broadcast on major radio and TV channels. Furthermore, his recordings released by AVIE Records, ARS, Chandos Artist Showcase, NAXOS and PIANO CLASSICS have achieved outstanding international critical acclaim as well as winning many prestigious awards. He has given world premieres of several works by Debussy, Ravel and Schmitt. Vincent Larderet has received many reviews and given interviews for prestigious magazines. He was honored as the cover artist of International Piano magazine and PIANIST Magazin. Mr. Larderet was also the co-founder of the Piano au Musée Würth international festival in France, which he managed as Artistic Director until 2017.
